About Me

Thank you for visiting this website! My name is Makena Crosser and I am a senior at Bainbridge High School.
Some things I like to do in my free time are spending time with my family, rowing with my teammates, and getting involved in my community.

When my grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, I discovered that there weren't a lot of resources for children and young adults whose family members were affected by the disease. I hope that this website can be used as a tool for young people to learn more about this neurodegenerative condition and receive the support they need.

In addition, I would like to extend my thanks to Dr. Paul Crane, MD, MPH from the University of Washington Alzheimer's Disease Research Center and Lauren Carroll from the Alzheimer's Association, who were kind enough to let me interview them during my early research stages.
